Jason Howes, MSc.

Coastal and Environmental Scientist
Jason Howes has over 12 years experience conducting coastal and environmental science-based studies to support higher-level decision making in Canada and the United States. His experience includes oil spill response, shoreline assessment and planning (BP Gulf of Mexico spill), coastal biophysical surveys, mapping and videotaping, research and assessments; and scientific analyses to support coastal and land planning, conservation, resource development and management. Jason is experienced in Incident Command System (ICS) with hazardous materials (HAZMAT certification).
Jason is also a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) specialist, experienced in utilizing GIS and ecological models to generate products for emergency response and natural resource planning. He has extensive experience working in multi-disciplinary teams and collaborative projects with industry, government, First Nations and NGOs. He is an effective communicator experienced in media relations, technical and report preparation and in leading training sessions.
